Relaxing massage

Time to rest, receive touch and slow down. You don't have to talk, meditate or do anything special: you can simply come and rest.

First time: I recommend 90 minutes. If you'd rather start with something shorter, 60 minutes works very well too.

Who it's for

  • If you feel worn out and on edge, and need a little calm.
  • If you're sensitive to being rushed or to abrupt touch.
  • If you need some time with no conversation and no demands.

You can simply come and rest

Maybe you've spent days feeling like you never stop. Or you'd like to set aside some time when you don't have to keep an eye on anything else.

Before we start, we talk briefly about how you are, what you're looking for and any area or kind of touch you'd prefer to avoid. From there, I shape the massage around your preferences and how it feels for you.

You can have your massage in silence. If I suggest paying attention to your breathing or to a particular sensation, it's an invitation you can follow or let pass. You don't need to meditate or do anything special to come.

Time to receive

The unhurried pace gives you space to notice your breathing, how you’re resting and how the touch feels. We agree on the intensity and the areas to focus on together, and can adjust them during the session.

The Alexander Technique helps me sense my own weight and breathing; Vipassana meditation helps me come back to the present moment. That attention supports calm touch, without losing sight of how you're feeling.

If you'd like to know more about that path, you'll find it in About me.

No need to pick the right name

If you're coming to rest, this is a good place to start. If what brings you is an area holding a lot of tension, you might want to devote the session to your back or your legs. And if you're after sustained pressure, few movements and a lot of stillness, that's how I work with Deep Tissue massage.

You can tell me how you're feeling before you book. We'll work it out together, without making the choice complicated.

FAQs

Questions about the relaxing massage

60 or 90 minutes?

If it's your first time, 90 minutes lets you arrive calmly and leaves time for the massage. 60 minutes is also a good option if it suits you better. See the full explanation in the FAQs.

Does it have to be a very gentle massage?

We agree on the pressure together, aiming for a level that lets you rest and feel comfortable during the massage. You can ask for changes at any time.

Do I have to talk during the session?

You can stay silent or tell me whatever you need. There's no need to keep up a conversation for the massage to adapt to you.

What clothes do I need to take off?

Take off as much or as little as you're comfortable with. You're covered with a sheet and only the area being worked on is uncovered. If you'd rather keep something on or avoid an area, we'll talk about it.

Can I point out an area to give more attention to?

Yes. We talk about it at the start and plan the time. If you'd like to spend the session mainly on one area, we can steer it towards the back massage or the leg and hip massage.
